Corten steel

Steel can be recycled 100% an indefinite number of times, without losing its qualities, making it a highly ecological material. Steel is an environmentally sound material, not only because it is full recyclable, but also because it is highly durable and, in comparison to other materials, relatively low levels of energy input are required for its manufacture. Around half of all the production in Europe and around the world, and almost all of the national production, comes from recycled steel.

After a certain amount of time, the chemical composition of corten steel forms a self-protecting surface layer which slows down corrosion. The reddish rust layer gives the metal a highly usable appearance which is easily integrated into rural and urban landscapes alike. It should be noted that the colour of the steel will vary depending on the climate conditions in each region. This material needs no special finish (lacquer, zinc galvanizing, etc.), there is no need for polluting processes. It contributes towards environmental sustainability and, best of all, needs no maintenance. These properties have led to corten steel being chosen as the main material for manufacturing our products.

The average natural oxidation period required for the colour to be uniform is 12-18 months. To avoid this waiting period, we apply a pre-oxidation treatment using the sandblasting technique (with a low environmental impact), before the oxide coating sets.

Recycled Plastic

We have a policy of minimizing the carbon footprint and ecological impact of everything we do. To this end, we have introduced a new material into several products: 100% recycled plastic obtained from recycling HDPE (high density polyethylene) and other thermoplastic materials. With certification of origin.

Characteristics:

  • Waterproof and damp-proof.
  • Anti-corrosive, chemical products do not deteriorate it.
  • Imperishable, it does not decay in the air or in contact with water or sand.
  • Weather resistant, under any climate conditions.
  • Good mechanical strength, hard-wearing material.
  • Hygienic, not vulnerable to micro-organisms, rodents or insects.
  • Highly fire resistant.
  • Safe, does not crack or splinter.

The advantage is that these materials have the appearance of wood with all the benefits of plastic: they do not decay, they do not rust, they are not vulnerable to insects and the material stays intact under extreme weather conditions. In addition, its ecological benefits are obvious, as the material enables recycled and recyclable structures to be produced that increase the reuse and value of waste.
